We work with:
Corporate Responsibility – taking care of how we work
At Wenham Carter International we recognise the fact that our business doesn’t exist in isolation but that our employees, customers, suppliers, the local community and the environment are all affected by what we do and how we do it.
Employees
We offer our employees a stimulating environment and we provide a stable business for them to develop their careers in. Our culture is fair and open and our training and review system gives our employees the opportunity to develop their skills and abilities. We pay competitive salaries and offer an above market-rate bonus scheme. Our support staff receive bonuses in line with the success of the business. We maintain a healthy work/life balance and all of our premises comply with required local health and safety regulations.
Customers and suppliers
We work closely with our customers and suppliers and treat both with respect and fairness. We choose our suppliers carefully. Wherever possible, we use local suppliers and encourage trading with smaller businesses in each local community we operate in.
Environment
We assess the environmental impact that our company has and we appreciate the influence we have over environmental thinking. We reduce the impact that our business has on the environment by effectively managing our resources and ensuring that we produce the minimum amount of waste. We will use teleconferencing and other technologies to reduce air travel whenever it makes sense to do so.
Local community
We recognise that there are many much less fortunate people in society and that, as a responsible employer, we have a role to play in helping such individuals. One example in the UK is our support for the Prince’s Trust, particularly concerning the Volunteer Scheme, which is a 12-week programme for 16-24 year olds who are at a disadvantage in society. Using their recruitment skills and knowledge, our consultants run workshops which help these young people in securing employment or vocational training. The results are tremendous, both for the Prince’s Trust candidates who secure jobs they never thought they would get, and for our consultants who feel they have had a direct impact on helping them to move on.
